The Clarinet

The clarinet is a member of the woodwind family with a nearly cylindrical bore and a flared bell. It uses a single reed to produce sounds and has a large pitch range. It produces a creamy tone, which can be warm and resonant down low, and bright and clear up high. It is always found in orchestras and bands, as well as military and marching bands.
