CMBC Cares

The Castillero Middle School Band, Choir, and Orchestra music programs - led by our dedicated music teachers - offer every student the opportunity to explore and grow through music. All instructional materials, instruments, strings, bows, reeds, repairs, and other essential supplies are provided free of charge. There are no monthly fees. Every student receives an instrument for the school year and may even keep it over the summer if continuing in the program the following year.

Learning is not limited to the Classroom

In our classrooms, students learn to read music, play instruments, and find their voices through song. But beyond the notes and rhythms, they discover something even more meaningful—how to work together, listen to one another, and create something beautiful as a team.

Preparing for concerts and performing as part of an ensemble is not only an essential part of our curriculum - it’s a joyful and transformative experience. Each year, our students share their hard work and passion through more than 20 concerts on campus, throughout the community, and at regional music festivals and trips.

One of our annual traditions is leading over 100 students to Great America as part of the Megafestival clinic and performance. Our advanced musicians also have the extraordinary opportunity to perform at Disneyland, entertaining the public and stepping into the shoes of recording artists in one of Disneyland’s professional studios. These unforgettable experiences do more than develop musical talent - they build confidence, character, and lifelong friendships. Through music, our students learn to express themselves, connect with others, and carry lessons of teamwork and creativity far beyond the classroom.

Who pays for the program?

With over 450 students in all three programs, the costs to support programs of this size are enormous. While the school district provides some financial assistance, the majority of our funding comes directly from community support through parent and community donations, corporate matching, and annual fundraising events and concerts.

CMBC's purpose

Beyond daily music instruction and school performances, students also have the chance to participate in field trips, clinics, and music festivals - valuable experiences that inspire growth and deepen their love of music. The Castillero Music Booster Club (CMBC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit composed of all volunteers, works with teachers and staff to provide additional financial and logistical support for these enriching opportunities. CMBC assists families in financial need so every student has the opportunity to participate in these trips and special events.

We need your support!

As a non-profit, we rely heavily on the support and generosity of others. We invite you to donate to CMBC and help share the gift of music with students who need it most. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a lasting difference. If your employer offers a Corporate Matching Program, please check to see if your donation can be matched.

CMBC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.
